Hummingbirds
I'm excited to report that I've seen Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. What makes this even more exciting for me is that they are in my own backyard. For the past three years, I have been setting up hummingbird feeders, but I often wondered if it was foolish of me to think I'd actually attract hummingbirds to my Oakdale, New York yard. Finally, last week I spotted this male ruby-throated coming in for a sip of nectar, Later I found out he wasn't the only one visiting my feeder. It appears I have several frequent visitors. I have been so entertained watching them that I haven't bothered going to the park. They have also encouraged me to do a great deal of work in my garden this weekend, which is a good thing.
